SOAR
Students with Outstanding Ability in Reading (and Math) is an enrichment program to serve academically talented students in grades 3 — 6.
SOAR Selection Process
Students who score 95% or higher in both the reading and math sections of the yearly achievement tests are then entered into a "talent pool." Ability scores and teacher recommendations are also considered. Once in the "talent pool," students are administered individual I.Q. tests. Results of this testing will determine entrance into SOAR. While recognizing that all children are "gifted" in different ways, the SOAR program focuses on those academically talented students in reading and math. |
