GOAL: The math program reinforces a primary CKS goal: to facilitate students in understanding their individual differences and their responsibility to themselves and their role in their community. To reach this goal , the students will engage in problem solving opportunities to develop critical and analytical thinking skills, and they will engage in hands-on experiences when discovering math concepts. These strategies will enable the students to apply math in their everyday lives.
CURRICULUM: The curriculum will assist the students in developing skills as independent, critical thinkers who can function successfully in a world of vast technological and informational challenges. It will assist the students in the integration of mathematical skills into their daily lives and help them recognize the interdependence of mathematics with the total core curriculum.
HOW PARENTS CAN HELP: Parents play an important role in heir children love for math. We give homework in math everyday so, TRUST and CHECK that they have done it. Communicate with the teacher if you have concern with your child.
EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITIES: Extra credit are built in the daily homework. Special extra credit may be given to a student if necessary. |
