Mrs. Clark

My name is Amber Clark (formerly known as Mrs. Voy), and this is my 13th year teaching Kindergarten at Christ the King School. My husband and I both graduated from the University of Iowa and decided that the Midwest winters were not for us, so here we are in Texas! Before finding my dream job here, I was a teacher and then director at a private preschool in Plano. I always knew that I wanted to work with young children and I love the fact that I get to come to work every day and teach these precious minds something new about the world. I still remember standing in front of my first Kindergarten class teaching reading when a student yelled out “I get it” and began to sound out a word! Nothing else in the world can prepare you for that kind of satisfaction, needless to say I cried like a baby in front of the class that day.

Many families at CKS refer to me as Mrs. Voy since the first 8 years of my teaching life here I used my maiden name. But after my daughter Katherine was born five years ago, we decided a change was overdue.  These days my life outside of school is filled with running after a very active and independent little girl, and trying to get in a few moments of peace where I can read a good book!  I look forward to meeting many new faces at Christ the King and in watching all of my former students blossom into very capable and caring individuals.
