Mrs. Mirus
Welcome to 4th Grade Gold!
Many of you may know me as Miss Garrett; over the summer, I married the love of my life and am now proud to introduce myself as Mrs. Mirus (though it's still so new, sometimes I forget). I'm excited to be a part of the Christ the King
community for another great year of fourth grade language arts,
math, religion, and science.
This is my third year at CKS as well as in Texas. I grew up
in Southern California, then spent four years studying at Thomas More College in New
Hampshire, including an amazing semester in Rome. Graduate school took me even farther afield: to the John Paul II Institute in Melbourne, Australia. Before my time at CKS, I taught a range of subjects and ages in San Jose, California. I love anything to do with words, and - though I enjoy teaching all subjects - I confess I have a special place in my heart for science. My favorite thing about teaching is getting to know my students and helping each of them grow into the unique person God made them to be.
It's been a delight getting to know the wonderful families, teachers, and staff of Christ the King. I'm looking forward to sharing another wonderful year with you, full of saints and heroes, poetry and science experiments. Fourth grade is an exciting year, a time of increased responsibility and blossoming creativity. I am honored to share it with you!
