Class Info

6th Grade

The textbook for this class is Our World Today - People, Places and Issues.

Broadly, this class covers the major countries of the world. The students will be required to demonstrate knowledge of various aspects of the major world countries. Typically, students will need to master grade level objectives related to a country's geography, history, climate, and economy.

7th Grade

The textbook for this class is Texas and Texans.

This class covers the history of Texas from prehistoric migration to North America to present day Texas. Though this class is a survey course, the majority of our objectives focus on the separation of Texas from Mexico and the annexation of Texas into the United States. The San Antonio/Austin field trip will continue this year in the Spring.

8th Grade

The textbook for this class is The American Republic to 1877.

This class covers European exploration to just after Civil War Reconstruction. Students will notice multiple similarities between the formation of Texas and the formation of the United States. The Taos field trip will occur in the fall.
