For the 7th grade - This website is an excellent resource for TEXAS Indians and thier cultures. The students can get a good idea about how individual tribes and cultures valued their environments and societies. This will give them a solid basis to write a myth.

On Friday, the 5th of October, all grade levels were told that a series of reading quizes would be given this year. The quizzes are mainly reading support. There will no advance notice of these quizzes, though the students can expect 2-3 quizes per chapter. A quiz is possible if the student HAS COMPLETED A GUIDED READING ON a given section. No quiz will be given to a class unless the students have read the section as part of an assignment.

Update

All classes have been reminded that not all questions on every test are covered in the review sheets. Some of the material has been covered in class or is in our textbook readings. ALL questions, however, are covered in the textbook.

Update

If your child has a question about a test or quiz grade they should see me during recess or after school. Earlier this year a quiz was given in which two errors occured from the textbook resources. Those issues have been resolved, but many students now believe that EVERY question marked wrong on a test is an error. They are very excited about the possiblity of finding errors on tests. Of course, there is a possiblity that a test/quiz grading error could occur. In that case, I want to spend as much time as possible addressing the issue with your child. I do not want to take time out of current learning to address grading issues.

7th and 8th grade
