I graduated with a B.A. Degree from Stephen
F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches,
Texas, with a major in Social Rehabilitation
and a minor in Psychology. My
Texas Teacher Certification was completed at East Texas
State University, Commerce, Texas, with
master-level course work in Elementary and
Special Education. I taught for nine years
in public schools and am starting my
fourteenth
year here at Christ the King in 2011-2012
teaching Math to
students in grades 1-5.
PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION
All children have a right to
an education. We are challenged to
meet a child “where he is” and take him
academically as far as he is capable. We
must continue to strive to differentiate our
teaching techniquesand strategies in order to bring each
student individually to his full potential.
PERSONAL
I was born in Abilene, Texas, and went to St. Joseph's Academy there along with my 29 first cousins! I later moved to Amarillo and then to Dallas in 1965, attending and graduating from Bishop Dunne High School.
I most enjoy spending time with my four
children, my new first grand-baby, my father, and
close friends. I have enjoyed traveling
to France and the Netherlands (via Iceland!), but my dream
is to spend time in Tuscany, Italy!
