Modified Math Class Info

Modified Math offers students a more individualized approach to Mathematics.  Although the class follows the same Diocese of Dallas Math Curriculum for grade levels 1-5, students are presented the material in a small class atmosphere with emphasis on the basic math facts and concepts.  The class allows for flexibility in pacing, as well as, modification of the curriculum to meet the individual child’s needs.  The use of manipulatives is important to enhance learning and is more manageable in a small class grouping.

Students are recommended for Modified Math through an evaluation process involving Achievement Test scores, classroom performance, teacher recommendation, and other testing, if available.  Parent’s requests are also considered. Christ the King’s goal is to provide an education that best meets each child’s needs.
