Mrs. Rubino
I was born in Ohio, the fourth of eight children. I have a B.S. in Education from Bowling Green State University and did graduate work there. I began my teaching career in Ohio, but have taught in Texas for the past two decades, including a five year stint teaching third grade. This is my third year at CKS.
The great thing about art is that is crosses all subjects. It includes religion, history, math, and science/nature; it's kin to music and literature. Now it's even computerized. I believe in emphasizing design in various ways (2-D and 3-D) since that's the skill students will take with them into the real world. Design teaches them how parts relate to the whole and sharpens their organizational skills.
