Mrs. Torockov

Welcome to 2nd Grade Red!  My name is Mrs. Emmy Torockov and  I am very excited to be back at CKS for the 2009-2010 school year!  This will be my seventh year teaching 2nd grade, my fourth year at CKS.

I grew up in Valley View, Texas; a small rural community about an hour north of Dallas.  I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas.  My master’s degree is in Teacher Leadership from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee.  I am married to Mr. Alex Torockov and we recently moved to Frisco.  I feel very blessed to have spent many years in Catholic schools and fortunate to now be teaching in such a wonderful community.

2nd grade is a very exciting year, full of new experiences and discoveries.  The highlight of our year is certainly receiving the sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist for the first time.  Students will also be strengthening their skills in all subject areas as they grow older and more independent.  We strive in 2R to create a community of learners where respect for one another and self-responsibility are key.  When students are comfortable and confident in their environment, they flourish and I’m so excited to experience this growth with another group of CKS students this year!
