KG Homeroom Teacher

My name is Amber Clark, and I am so happy to be starting my 22nd year teaching Kindergarten at Christ the King!  I am originally from the Midwest and graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Child Psychology.  Before finding my dream job here, I was a pre-K teacher and then Director of a private pre-school in Plano.  I always knew that I wanted to work with young children and I love the fact that I get to come to work every day and teach these precious minds something new about the world.  I still remember standing in front of my first Kindergarten class teaching phonics when a child yelled out, "I get it" and began to sound out a word!  Nothing in the world can prepare you for that kind of satisfaction, needless to say, I cried up a storm that day.

Many families at Christ the King still refer to me as Mrs. Voy since I originally used my maiden name when teaching, but when my daughter Katherine was born 14 years ago we thought a change was overdue.  These days my life outside of school is spent running after a very active and independent teenager,  and trying to get in a few moments of peace when I can read a good book!  I look forward to meeting many new faces at Christ the King this year and in watching all of my former students blossom into very capable and caring individuals.

God Bless,

Amber Clark
