What is the annual Gala?
The Gala is the school’s largest annual fund–raising event!  It is a fun–filled evening with fine dining, dancing, cocktails, and Live and Silent Auctions. Everyone in the school participates in this community building event including the faculty, current parents, parishioners, and alumni.  Even the children donate their time and fine works of art!  For the most part, it is the hundreds of parents that donate their time and money that make this extraordinary event happen.  Save the date for Saturday, November 10th and join us at the new Ritz–Carlton, Dallas for a wonderful celebration.

Why do we need the annual Gala and how are the proceeds used?
The primary purpose of the annual Gala is to help fund current year operating costs for the school.  Tuition and an annual gift from the church only cover about 71% of the cost to educate each child.  That is a gap of over $2,500 per child!  Every child that wants a Catholic Education deserves to have one.  There are many families that cannot afford to pay that difference.  The annual Gala is the CKS parents’ largest effort to help bridge that gap.

The theme of the Christ the King School Gala in this 60th Diamond Anniversary Year is “It’s a Wonderful Life –– Every Life Touches Another”. It is in this classic Christmas film, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” a guardian angel teaches us that even the smallest acts of kindness or sacrifices by one person can make a huge impact on an entire community. Likewise, our school community has been built by many selfless and generous acts over the past 60 glorious years.

The Gala will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at the new Ritz–Carlton, Dallas. An elegant evening of fine dining, dancing, bidding, shopping, and celebration awaits you. We will have many wonderful items available that night in our Silent and Live Auctions (and several surprises)!

“It’s a Wonderful Life” also teaches us to be grateful for all of our gifts. We are so thankful for the incredible support of our past and present parents, outstanding faculty, underwriters, super students, business supporters, and passionate alumni. Your gifts of time, talent, and treasure play a critical part in meeting the school’s financial goals and making Christ the King School truly wonderful for our children.
