SAFE ENVIRONMENT
Mandated by the Diocese of Dallas – April 2005
Safe Environment Procedures for First Time Applicants:
*Read the Diocesan Safe Environment Handbook and the accompanying Policy on Sexual Misconduct. Once you have familiarized yourself with the Diocesan policies, please sign the acknowledgement form on page 15.
*Fill out the Screening Form completely including social security number and date of birth.
*Please return the signed page 15 of the Diocesan Safe Environment Handbook with the completed Screening Form to Laura Lynch (Safe Environment Director) at the Christ the King Church office.
*Make arrangements to attend a Safe Environment Training class. These are offered periodically at the parish, but you may seek a training class at any parish offering the Family of Faith training mandated by the Diocese of Dallas. The schedules for these can be found on the Diocesan website: www.cathdal.org.
*Make arrangements with Laura Lynch for a personal interview.
*Have a picture ID made if necessary. This is done at the parish. Photos are taken at the training classes. If you attend training elsewhere, arrangements must be made to have the badge made separately.
*New volunteers must wait 6 months from the date the written documentation is returned before receiving their badge.
Safe Environment Procedures for Renewing Applicants:
*Renew Safe Environment Training each year, with the year beginning in August. This may be available on–line or in person depending on the requirement for that year.
*Once verification of attendance is completed, you will receive a renewal sticker to place on your Photo ID Badge.
*If badge is lost, a new badge must be made through Christ the King Church office at the cost of the applicant.
If you should have any questions concerning this or need to arrange an interview, please call Laura Lynch at (214)365–1208.
Please keep in mind that these requirements are set by the
Diocese of Dallas and may change. |
