CKS Re-Opening Plan

Dear Parents,

We have been diligently working on our CKS Reopening Plan to provide options for our families to continue their Catholic education. Our plan was developed with guidance from the CDC, TEA, TCCB ED, CSO, DCHHS, and government guidelines. It is still subject to change as new information becomes available. A great deal of time and resources have been committed to planning for the future as we prepare for the 2020-2021 school year. This COVID-19 pandemic is still fluid and unpredictable. As such, things are still subject to change as new information becomes available.

Thank you to our Task Force members for their time and expertise discussing protocols, policies, and scenarios for the reopening of Christ the King Catholic School. Please know that our students are always at the forefront of our decisions. We remain committed to a proactive approach to provide for the physical, intellectual, and spiritual well-being of our students and families.

We remain grateful to the continued support and commitment of our families to the CKS mission as we prepare for the upcoming school year. We greatly valued your feedback with respect to E-Learning and reopening. Please know that we are here to partner with you to provide the best for our Crusaders.

Our CKS Reopening Plan is designed for a return to campus with safety and health considerations in place. We have the option for virtual learning available, and know that you will make the best decision for your family. The virtual learning option will take place simultaneously with on-campus instruction (detailed in the Academics section of this plan.) Please know that there is still a plan for full E-learning, as well as a hybrid model should either be necessary for CKS in the future.

Our plan focuses on health and safety, academic validity, operational vitality, Catholic identity, and communication. Our goal is to continue to provide a rigorous and relevant high-quality academic experience rooted in our Catholic faith. Now more than ever before, we need your support and partnership to keep our community safe so that we can continue to live our mission.

After reading the plan, please join us for grade level meetings. We will be sending a link to each family to make a commitment to on-campus or virtual learning for the first quarter of the 2020-2021 school year. Parents are asked to make this decision by August 15th. Thank you for supporting the CKS mission. Your families remain in our prayers. We greatly look forward to seeing you soon!
