As a second generation graduate of Christ the King Catholic School, I am thrilled to be back at CKS welcoming new families to the Crusader community as the Director of Admissions and Advancement. I have spent the last 18 years in Catholic education with the Diocese of Dallas. After graduating with a degree in Elementary Education from Saint Louis University in 2007, I taught middle school at St. Mary of Carmel for nine years. I joined the CKS faculty in 2016 as the Upper School History teacher. In 2021, I received a master's degree from Southern Methodist University in Educational Leadership.

Global education is one of my passions. In 2020, I was invited to come study at Yad Vashem's International School of Holocaust Studies in Israel. In the spring of 2019, I was selected to attend the World Affairs Council of Dallas' United Arab Trip for educators. During the tour, we interacted with top UAE government officials, visited internationally renowned museums, participated in cultural activities, and visited schools and universities with the purpose of the study tour was to forge connections between classrooms in the UAE and USA and provide primary experiences for US educators to engage with the Middle East and bring that knowledge back to their classrooms. In the summer of 2018, I was asked to lead a teacher training sessions at several schools in rural Uganda with the Kamukama Foundation. In the summer of 2016, I was selected to attend the World Affairs Council of Dallas' Morocco trip for educators. Fellows in the Morocco study tour develop their own curricula highlighting historical, cultural, and political comparisons between the U.S. and Morocco. In 2012, I had the opportunity to join Arise Africa on a trip to Lusaka, Zambia. I helped lead a teacher training session and was able to interact on a personal level with young children at camp. Throughout my time at CKS, I have partnered with Ursuline Academy to bring delegations from South Africa, Tawain, Brazil, Jordan, and the U.K. To Crusader classrooms.
I am certified in Project Based Learning through the Buck Institute. In December 2014, I was selected to attend the prestigious Google Teacher Academy and became a Google Certified Teacher.  According to Google, “Google Certified Teachers are exceptional educators with a passion for using innovative tools to improve teaching and learning, as well as creative leaders and ambassadors for change. They are recognized experts and widely admired for their commitment to high expectations for students, lifelong learning and collaboration.”

I have received two Work of Heart Awards from the Catholic Foundation, was named Teacher of the Year in 2014 by St. Mary of Carmel Catholic School and was named Teacher of the Year in 2019 by Christ the King Catholic School.  I have also been honored as Teacher of the Year by the Dallas Notre Dame Alumni Group and named Distinguished Young Alumni of Ursuline Academy.

It's easy to be enthusiastic when you love what you do!

Thanks,
Ms. Madeline Elliott
